The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Edo State on New Media Jack Obinya, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the shooting of anybody caught with AK47 or sophisticated weapons in Nigeria
According to Jack Obinyan, the news was shared with BBC Hausa by Garba Shehu. Garba Shehu is the Senior Special Assistant on Media to President Buhari. The Senior Special Assistant to the Edo State Governor also clarified that the statement was referring to bandits and kidnappers
Apart from bandits and kidnappers, some herders have been accused of wielding AK47, and many Nigerians have been calling on government to put an end to it, however, we don't know whether this may be part of the reason Buhari is giving such order.
