2 Statements That The Middle Belt Said That Many Southerners May Love To Hear.

As the 2023 presidential election is getting closer day by day, the zoning of the presidency has always been one of the most talked about issues in the country. It usually sparks reactions and arguments in Nigeria.

Furthermore, Afenifere, Ohanaeze, and the southern governors have declared their stand on the matter, in which they make it known that the 2023 Presidency should shift to the south.

However, many northern elite politicians oppose this proposal for a variety of reasons. Not only that, the northern governors also declared in their meeting some days ago that the zoning of the presidency to the South in 2023 is unconstitutional.

On the other hand, Value Added Tax (VAT) is also one of the hottest topics in Nigeria now, as the Lagos and Rivers state Governors, Sanwo Olu and Wike, claim that they will be the ones collecting it.

However, when the middle belt forum was talking to the newsmen yesterday, according to the Sahara Reporters, he made these two statements about the zoning of the presidency and VAT, which many Southerners may love to hear.

The middle belt is not part of the decision that the presidency won't be zoned to the South in 2023.

Unlike how the Northerners claim that the zoning of the presidency to the South is unconstitutional, the Middle Belt Forum makes it known that the Southern presidency in 2023 is unnegotiable and the people who are kicking against it are not the lovers of Nigeria.

These statements may sound so good in the ears of many southerners because let's recall that Ohanaeze has made it known that he may declare his support for Biafra if the Northern succeeds President Buhari.

This statement from the middle belt forum also shows that the southern president is getting a high chance of coming to pass.

The Governors of Rivers and Lagos felt that it was not proper to generate so much money in VAT and get so little of it.

We all know that many Northerners kick against the collection of VAT by Wike and Sanwo Olu, but this middle bet forum tries to stay neutral.

Many southerners may seriously love to hear the above statement because they feel that they have been cheated because they have not had total access to all the VAT that is being generated in their states.
