3 Reasons Why Northern Elders' Insistence Not To Leave Power In 2023 Is Totally Justified

The Chieftain of the Northern Elders Forum, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has revealed that the north inherited Nigeria's leadership and will not be intimidated to leave power by 2023. He also revealed that, heaven will not fall if another northerner is elected the next President, because northerners are not second-class citizens and will not accept to serve as a second fiddle in 2023. While this may have generated outrageous reactions from the south, here are three reasons why his argument and insistence are totally justified;

1, He revealed that the north has the population to dominate Nigeria for decades, which is completely true. When it comes to Nigerian elections over the years, the Northern votes determines the winner and if checked properly he is not far from the truth. Nigeria is democratic country and votes determines the winner, which the North clearly has over the South.

2, The South ruled for 16 years, and since election is supposed to be rotational, it is only logical that the North equally rule the same amount of years the South ruled, which is the least they should be granted.

3, He claims that they cannot accept a second-class position. Overtime, the north have always felt like they are inferior, a stereotype that they have decided to correct, which is another reason why they should not be blamed, if they insist on changing it.
