The newly constituted national campaign committee for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the next Edo governorship elections recently meet in a closed door at the Rivers state government house. The meeting was presided over by governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike (chairman of the national campaign council and Rivers state governor).
The meeting was believe to be the first since the inauguration of the 77 members National Campaign Council. Details from the meeting was centred on formulating strategies and ideas that will bring victory for the party in the next Edo elections.
Top personalities and chieftains of the party attended the meeting. Among those which include the governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, Sen Ike Ekweremadu, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Sen Dino Melaye, among others. Members of the national campaign council, chairmen and secretaries of all the sub-committees of Edo 2020 were equally not excluded.
The party discussed widely on ensuring victory for the part my and Governor Godwin Obaseki in the next election. The party equally vowed to put all the forces needed together to deliver Edo state to PDP
The deputy chairman of the campaign committee, Gov Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State said the party will adopt the best approach to retain what rightly belongs to them and that they would work with the people of Edo state in other to promote democracy.
With these steps, can we say that the next Edo governorship elections is settled for PDP?
