A close family who confirmed to the Punch Newspaper said the two-time member of the Edo state House of Assembly died in an Abuja hospital. The cause of the death is yet unknown as at press time.
Zakawanu Garuba was born on the 18th of July, 1965 in Auchi,Edo state, South South, Nigeria.
He attended Our Lady of Fatima College, Auchi between 1978 and 1983 before proceeding to the famous Edo College Benin for his secondary education. He also bagged his LLB degree from the prestigious University of Ife(Now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife) Osun state,South West, Nigeria .He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1990.
The influential politician who was a member of the People's Democratic Party was speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly between 2007 and 2009.His stellar performance as the Honorable speaker of the house is still a reference point in political meetings.
He is survived by his beautiful wife and three lovely children.
