Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has felicitated former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on the occasion of his 86th birthday, wishing him long life in good health and peace of mind as he continues to work for a united and prosperous Nigeria.

Dr Jonathan described Chief Obasanjo as a sincere patriot who has remained relentless, even in old age, in his commitment to building bridges of harmony, equity and progress in Africa.

Niger APC Chairman Suspended Over ‘Anti-Party’ Activities.

The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Niger State has suspended the state Chairman, Haliru Zakari Jikantoro over alleged anti-party activities during the just-concluded presidential and National Assembly elections.

The Kashini ward executive of the party in the Agwara Local Government Area of the state suspended Jikantoro, accusing him of violating the party’s constitution, and causing crisis in the party ahead of governorship and state assembly polls.

Ahead of the March 11 Governorship and House of Assembly elections, Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has warned that the state government will not allow religious crisis in the state.

Sule stated this on Saturday in Lafia during a meeting with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) and retired Justice Sidi Bage-Mohammed, the Emir of Lafia and Chairman of the state Traditional Council.

The governor said that the meeting was necessitated due to the dangerous religious dimension of ongoing politics ahead of the March 11 elections.

He also condemned some inciting and provocative videos that went viral on social media promoting religious politics.

An APC Chieftain, Tein Jack-Rich, has congratulated the president-elect and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, over their victory at the polls.

Jack-Rich, who was a front line aspirant at the APC presidential primary that produced Tinubu said the president elect’s victory was well deserved.
