Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has sacked his Special Adviser on Media, Salihu Tanko Yakasai.
The state Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, in a proclamation on Saturday, February 27, said the firing followed Salihu's "continuous unguarded remarks and expressions which are considered to be in opposition to the All Progressive Congress, APC, a government which he is serving".
Garba added that Salihu could not separate between genuine belief and official stand on issue of public concern and accordingly can't be allowed o keep on serving in an administration he doesn't have faith in.
The State Governor through the media cautioned political nominees and local officials to guard against offering expressions that will cause unnecessary controversy .
The statement reaffirmed the responsibility and commitment of Governor Ganduje to the approaches and projects of the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Salihu while responding to the kidnapping of the Zamfara students, asked President Buhari to stop the insecurity in the country or leave office.
