Goodluck Jonathan arrives Mali ahead of Ecowas peace keeping job

The former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Jonathan was a few days ago appointed the head of the Ecowas special envoy to Mali on a peach keeping mission.

His appointment is sequel to the increasing number of terrorism and violence in the country, in what is looking like a domestic war.

As a Special Envoy, the former President of Nigeria is to facilitate dialogue with all Principal Stakeholders in Mali, including President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, Opposition Leaders, Civil Society, as well as Religious Organisations, towards resolving the worsening socio-political situation in the West African country.

Speaking ahead of his scheduled departure for Bamako, today, Jonathan promised to do his best to ensure that the Mission achieves the desired results.

He also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for the support of the Nigerian Government, including providing an aircraft and other logistics needed to make the assignment successful.

Goodluck Jonathan since his exist from office as President of Nigeria, has enjoyed lots of international appointments, and has been involved in several peace keeping missions.
