24th October, 1945 was the year the United Nations was founded, it is among the most powerful intergovernmental organisations in the World, the United Nations is also reponsible for making peace and preventing conflicts from happening in other Countries.

Major General Joe Nerven Garba- Joe
In 1989, Major General Joe became the first Nigerian to be elected as President of the United Nations General Assembly. He also served as the Nigerian Representative to United Nations in 1984.
He was a Military man who later became a successful Diplomat.
Professor Tijjani Muhammed Bande- Bande
Professor Muhammed is the Former Vice Chancellor of Usman Danfodio University, He is the second Nigerian to be elected as the President of the United Nations General Assembly, he was appointed in 2019. Professor Tijjani is currently the Ambassador of the United Nations.
These men has made our great Country proud by becoming Presidents of the United Nations Assembly, and their name will never be forgotten in Nigerian History.
