This year’s Miss Belgium is Kedist Deltour, a 23-year-old and she was crowned last night at the Proximus Theatre in Adinkerke.
Out of a total of 33 candidates, 15 were chosen for the finals.
Thanaree Scheerlinck won first runner-up, followed by Louise-Marie Losfeld, Elodie Gualano, and Camilia Martinez.
She was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and lost her mother at age eight to cancer.
Her father left her in an orphanage the following year.
Belgian couple Peter and Nadège Deltour adopted her when she was ten years old.
Kedist Deltour received a pink Volvo after her election.
During the show, she told about her difficult youth.
Deltour succeeds Céline Van Ouytsel as Miss Belgium, according to Ethiopian Embassy in Belgium.
As Miss Belgium, she will represent Belgium at either Miss World 2021 or Miss Universe 2021.
