Emmanuel Iwanyanwu, the president of Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo, has refuted claims that some Igbos in Nigeria are planning to secede. He pointed out that Igbos can be found in various locations and have investments in every sector. According to Iwanyanwu, it would be impractical for them to abandon their existing investments in pursuit of secession.
During a visit to Oguta in Imo state, Iwanyanwu reiterated that Igbos are not seceding from Nigeria. He expressed confusion over why people would assert that Igbos are attempting to secede from the country. He argued that Igbos have investments all over Nigeria and leaving them behind would not be a wise decision.
It is important to note that Iwanyanwu had previously called on the president to release Nnamdi Kanu, a prominent Igbo figure, before the end of the president's tenure.
