In tandem with his electoral promises, Hon. Gboluga Dele Ikengboju, a lawmaker representing the federal electoral district of Okitipupa/Irele, has facilitated another empowerment program for his constituents.
The empowerment program which took place at his constituency office in Okitipupa, yesterday, Saturday, 27th February 2021 featured training in cake baking and other hospitality businesses after which participants were supported with cash gifts of N20,000 each.
Beneficiaries numbering about 100 randomly selected from Okitipupa and Irele LGAs including artisans were taught ways to improve their skills in tandem with global best practices.
Addressing participants on behalf of his principal, Hon. Niyi Akinmola the Chief of Staff to the distinguished lawmaker said the empowerment program is part of the numerous projects initiated by the lawmaker to support his constituents even as he assured of more in no distant time.
In her reaction, one of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Christianah Orisaebinone from Okitipupa, said her thirst to improve her skills by learning new trades has been satisfied having participated in the program.
She said, "This is a great opportunity for me, and I am very grateful to our MHR for this brilliant opportunity." I've been wanting to learn cake baking for a long time, and today I've been well equipped, so I can assure you that I'm going to maximize this opportunity.
The Chairperson, Okitipupa LGA Hairdressers Association, Mrs. B.O Ogundayomi, opined that the event was timely and well thought out, noted that its positive effect on the Ikale people cannot be overemphasized. She therefore encouraged the distinguished lawmaker to continue with his good deeds.
Mrs. Dare Amasika of Akotogbo, Irele LGA appreciated Hon. Ikengboju for his outstanding leadership and prayed that God would continue to enrich him with wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Miss Aro Banke is another beneficiary of Irele LGA who expressed the program's delight and satisfaction.
