Source reveals the person Gov Adeleke is supporting as next Speaker of the Osun State House Assembly

According to a news that was published by the Leadership Newspaper online this morning, it was reported that as the elected members of the National Assembly, struggle the chart a separate and distinct path from the executive arm of government by electing their own leaders, similar, but less assertive scenarios are already playing out at the state levels as well, with some governors increasingly tightening their grip on state assemblies.

It was reported by Leadership Newspaper that a source, who spoke in confidence and under the condition of anonymity said that, the 37-year-old Adewale Egbedun, is the obvious preferred candidate of the governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for the post of Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly for the 8th Assembly.


More information made it known that, Egbedun, who is representing the Odo Otin State constituency, who was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is expected to preside over the 26-member House, that is made up of 25 Peoples Democratic Party's members and one All Progressives Congress' member.


It was reported that although, Egbedun is a first timer but, he may benefit from the age-long zonal arrangement of the Governor, the Deputy Governor and the Speaker,.emerging from different senatorial seats, since the two returning PDP lawmakers-elect, Hon. Adewunmi Babajide Kofoworola comes from the Governor’s district and Adewumi Adeyemi from the Deputy Governor’s Senatorial District.
