Tinubu: '180 Days Without Court Ruling Will Signify That Obi And Atiku's Petition Is Dead' - Oshoma

The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party and the PDP, Mr. Peter Obi and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar filed a petition for a live broadcast of the proceedings of the Election tribunal of the case filed against the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. A Lawyer and a Public Policy Analyst, Liborous Oshoma has alleged that Atiku and Obi may have shut themselves in the foot by engaging in an unnecessary suit against the President-elect on Live coverage.

He stated that the Tribunal is considerably trying to look at how the court could manage the time to ensure that it listens to the case of the two petitioners at the same time. He also noted that after 180 days, the petition of the two main petitioners is dead according to the constitution of Nigeria. So basically, the time ticking so fast favours the President-elect, Bola Tinubu.

He said, ''If you give seven weeks to each party; at the end of the day, before one party finishes it case. The time for the petition would have elapsed and that will mean that the tribunal will be denied of the opportunity to deliver judgement. Because 180 days without court ruling will signify that Obi and Atiku's petition is dead. There is nothing that can resurrect it after that. To avoid that the tribunal is trying to see how they can manage the time for the petitioner.''
