In the game of politics, it's understandable that there will be a lot of rivalry, but when this desire to learn a people(politics), degenerates into an unnecessary war of words, these politicians need to be called to order.
So is the case in Imo State, as people from the camp of both Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and Governor Hope Uzodinma, have kept the Imo political scene heated with their exchange of words and it is indeed, getting tiring.
There's hardly a week that goes by, that members of both the governor and former governor's camp, do not exchange heated words and they have even taken this rivalry to social media, where their followers on not fail to lambast anyone who raises a contrary view, about their principal.
This situation, goes a long way to show that Nigerians, are yet to gain political maturity, as they let their allegiance to particular leaders, affect their patriotic obligations as Nigerians, which is the fostering of leave and unity, regardless of our political persuasions.
In fairness to some leaders, you will never hear or read about them carrying out smear campaigns, against their rivals.
Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, has done so well to keep his sentiment to himself and it must be commended, however, some of his followers do not seen to be towing that line, as they are usually seen criticizing Governor Hope Uzodinma.
Interestingly, Gov. Hope Uzodinma has been no better, as he is very vocal against Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, as only recently did he publicly accuse Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, of doing everything within his power, to win back the Imo State Governorship, so as to avoid being patient.
I urge our politicians, especially in imo State, to be more careful with their words, and the main aim of politics, is to serve people and be changing the lives of Nigerians.
God bless Imo State
God bless Nigeria.
Dear Nigerians, what is your take on this disheartening trend in our dear Country?
