Sabur olademije Demije Bankole is a Nigerian politician who served as the 9th speaker of the house of representatives of Nigeria,elected at age 37 said to be the youngest speaker in the history of the house. He is from a muslim background from Egba, Demije Bankole was born on the 14th of November 1969 in Abeokuta Ogun State Nigeria. The parents of Demije Bankole are well-known in Egba, his father Mr Alani Bankole is a businessman, former National Vice-Chairman and holder of certain chieftaincy titles such as the Oluwo of Iporo and some more.
In 2002, Demije Bankole was elected to the house of representatives of Nigeria under the platform of the PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) to represent Abeokuta South federal constituency of Ogun State
In 2014 the former speaker of the house of representatives Hon Demije Bankole lost his daughter, yewande.
He contest for a gubernatorial election but lost sometime last year.
