Opinion: PDP Has no right to accuse Buhari or the APC.

Ever since the end of military rule in 1998, the people's democratic party, PDP was formed in August of 1998, ahead of the democratic elections of 1999. The PDP won, with Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as the president. The party had majority of the legislatures too and ran this country from 1999-2015, that is a period of 16 years.

During this 16 yr period, they had their wins, but perfection was far from them. It got so bad Goodluck Jonathan had to lose to Mr. Muhammadu Buhari in 2015. Nigerians were obviously tired of corruption and embezzlements of public funds identified in their administration.

If not, why will they be voted out?.

If they had done a fantastic job, they would still be in power. They did however lose the trust of the people, had their issues both internally and externally. Well, the APC, a mega merger was set up and ultimately unseated them.

They attempted to reclaim power through Atiku Abubakar, but that effort failed. They have however remained fierce critics of the APC, question is, what is their justification?, and why did the people lose faith in them?.

A party that was in power for 16 years, did not encounter a major pandemic like covid-19, should not compare itself with the APC. The APC came in with obviously greater promises than they could deliver, but have been at it for just 6yrs plus, still has till 2023.

Now, we are not saying the APC are extremely a perfect party and doing outstandingly well, but we are not sure the PDP would have done better either. Coming out at every opportunity to call out the APC and critic the government makes things difficult for the government.

The PDP can not continue to distract the government with talks that they could have been better, because at the end, the masses lose. What they now accuse Buhari and have a government of has always been there- corruption.

What Nigeria needs is for all to support this administration as it engages on a mission to regain her integrity and popularity. They are trying, no matter how little, they are not sitting on their hands at all.
