Nigerians Are Waiting For PDP To Take-over Power In 2023, They Are Tired Of APC – Diri

Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri on Saturday said that, Nigerians were tired of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and looked forward to voting for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023.

Diri also boasted that the governors elected across the country on the PDP platform are the top performing governors in the country.

He spoke in Mahmud Ribadu Square in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area in Adamawa state, as Chairman of the PDP National Election Committee for the leadership of the State Congress.

In a statement by the Governor's Press secretary, Daniel Alabrah, the Governor was quoted as saying the PDP was ready to take power at the centre in 2023.

He said, “Nigerians are fed up with the APC and are waiting for the PDP to take over. I assure you that the PDP will take over the presidency of our country in 2023.

“I read about the first flyover in the North East, and I drove on it yesterday. As a party, we are pleased that the Governor of Adamawa State is performing and doing well. PDP Governors from North to South are the best performing in Nigeria. "

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, were among the delegates who voted at the Congress, which produce a legal practitioner, Tahir Shehu, as the chairman of the party.

He urged party members to stand together firmly and united to ensure that the PDP returns to power in the next general election.

Diri described Fintiri as one of the party's "Shining Lights" and said he had left a remarkable mark on the development of the Adamawa.

He also congratulated the Independent National Electoral Commission (EFCC), whose electoral officer and his team were present to watch the exercise.
