Mr Bayo Onanuga, a foremost Nigerian journalist and a media spokesperson of the Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign council, has taken to his official Twitter platform to allege that the 2023 election was the best out of all he had witnessed since 1979.

The journalist made this known through a post on his official Twitter platform which he titled “PDP and LP must stop the blackmail against the judiciary”, and in the post, he noted that those who are criticizing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), because of the outcome of the 2023 general election, especially the presidential election are doing so because the result of the election did not favor them.
He went ahead to slam the former Catholic archbishop of Abuja diocese, John Onaiyekan, for his critical comments against the ruling APC as well as the result of the election, citing that the allegations by the bishop that the election was rigged in favor of the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was a lie.
Onanuga further noted that the 2023 election was miles ahead of the 2007 election which was conducted by the then president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, and he also alleged that Obasanjo’s successor, Umar Musa Yar’Adua, atoned for the nature of the election by setting up the Justice Uwais Commission to sanitize the Nigerian election process.
Finally, he called on the opposition, especially those who had filed a suit at the presidential election tribunal, to exercise patience for the judiciary to decide whether they (the opposition) have any strong case to invalidate Tinubu’s victory.
