Opinion: 3 Things Bawa Can Do To Assist Buhari On The Current Situation Of Insecurity In Nigeria

Some weeks ago, The Federal Government of Nigeria appointed a new EFCC Chairman in the person of Abuldrasheed Bawa to replace the outgone Chairman, Ibrahim Magu.

Since the commencement of Bawa's appointment, people of the state are of hope that Bawa's tenure will change the terrain of corruption in Nigeria since he is still young and vibrant to do the cleansing of the corrupt institutions in Nigeria.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) which is an agency established by the Federal Government under President Olusegun Obasanjo's administration in 2003 was established to fight and curb corrupt practices in Nigeria.

Bawa who is 40 years old, is a trained EFCC investigator with vast experience in the investigation and prosecution of Advance Fee Fraud cases, official corruption, bank fraud, money laundering, and other economic crimes. He holds a B.Sc degree in Economics, and Masters in International Affairs and Diplomacy.

So I Present You Three Things Bawa Can Do To Assist Buhari On The Current Situation Of Insecurity In Nigeria

1. Bawa Should Appeal To President Muhammadu Buhari To Increase The Monthly Security Vote Of All The State Governors In Nigeria

With the recent cases of kidnapping in Nigeria, Bawa can assist President Buhari by advising him to increase the Monthly Security Vote which is normally allocated to all State Governors in Nigeria.

This increment will help all the State Governors to plan on how to effectively manage the security conditions of their various states by buying more sophisticated equipment for the security agencies in their various states which will go along way to reduce the rate of the violent act in Nigeria.

2. Bawa Should Assist in Monitoring And Investigating The Security Vote Allocated To All The State Governors In Nigeria

After the security vote of all the state governors has been increased, Bawa should assist President Buhari to monitor and investigate how all the allocated Security Votes are been spent by all the State Governors in the 36 states of the Federation.

Some state governors may want to take the opportunity of President Buhari's nonradical stance to divert the money meant for security in their states to achieve another task.

3. Bawa Should Advise President Buhari To Allow All The State Governors To Curtail Insecurity In Their Various State The Best Way They Could.

Bawa can assist President Buhari by advising him to allow all the state governors in their various states to curtail insecurity in their various states the best way they could.

Any initiative or idea they come up with to legally tackle insecurity in their various states should be welcomed by President Buhari.
