According to information obtained by Punch correspondent, the Independent Electoral commission revealed that they have fixed technological problem and have started reconfiguration of BVAS machine.
It was discovered that, in preparation for the March 18 gubernatorial and state assembly elections, the commission had also sent out its technical teams to reconfigure the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System.
The roughly 176,000 BVAS machines that will be used for the elections on March 18 were given permission to be reconfigured by the appellate court.
“INEC has commenced the reconfiguration of the BVAS nationwide. The RATechs (Registration Area Technical Support) deployed to support the BVAS during the February 25 election are the ones reconfiguring the devices.
“INEC has sufficient skilled staff members to handle the reconfiguration. Yes, the technical issue has been resolved and there is a backup plan in place to forestall reoccurrence.” The INEC official said
