A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Amuwo-Odofin LGA of Lagos state says there is a possibility that northern politicians will betray Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu if he contests for the presidency in 2023.
The APC Chieftain, who spoke to online news media under the condition of anonymity for fear of facing retribution, warned the APC national leader to learn from the experience of MKO Abiola who was considered the winner of the June 12 election.
He Advised Tinubu to remain as the kingmaker in the party rather than trying to become President.
The source expressed the fear that Bola Tinubu's political relevance may whittle down if he contests and losses the presidency.
The party member also alleged that the former Lagos governor’s grip on the party was domineering.

''If you are not a Tinubu’s boy, there is no hope of you emerging as candidate for an elective of in the APC especially in the southwest region.
''Baba is not supposed to be concerning himself with petty things in the APC. He should stop dictating who emerges as governorship candidates in all southwest states.
"If baba does not stop, people will rebel against him.''Tinubu has not officially declared his intention to run for office, but media reports have continued to link him to the 2023 presidency.
Meanwhile, a report by the Nigerian Tribune indicates that the presidential bid of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has received a massive boost in the last few weeks.
According to the report, key stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been subtly declaring their support for the APC national leader ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
More importantly for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu , a number of northern governors are favourably disposed to his ambition.
Already, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state has not hidden his support for the APC national leader as Asiwaju Tinubu was accorded a royal reception in the northwest state recently, where he is birthday lecture was also held.
Sources quoted in the report also indicated that his aspiration of Tinubu enjoys the support of Aminu Bello Masari, the governor of Katsina , the home state of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Not too long ago, former deputy Minority Chief Whip of the Senate and stalwart of the APC from Katsina state, Senator Abu Ibrahim, canvassed for support for Asiwaju Tinubu during the inauguration of Bola Tinubu Support Organisation held in Abuja , saying he could vouch for him.
Similarly, a serving speakers and their predecessors from the northwest zone of Nigeria had declared their support for Tinubu as the successor to President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
Their declarations and promises are coming some weeks after a similar endorsement of the APC national leader was carried out by their colleagues in the southwestern zone of Nigeria.
At a meeting held in Kano for the states in the northwestern zone on Friday, March 26, the lawmakers declared that Asiwaju Tinubu remained the right person for the presidential ticket of the ruling APC at the moment throughout the country.
Some of them argued that with the challenges faced by the country, citizens deserved a leader who was detribalised and had shown over time that he had the capacity to lead the masses.
