SARS Victims To Get N43.75M Compensation

The Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry and restitution for victims of police brutality has continued to compensate victims of The Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) brutality. Some of the victims have argued that the compensation they received is less than what they demanded.

Adebayo Abayomi and Hannah Olugbodia are the first two petitioners who got N10m each for the loss and disability they suffered as a result of misuse of firearms by officers of the Nigeria Police Force.


Bandits Want To Be Paid In Bitcoin

A former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, has highlighted that Boko Haram insurgents and bandits now wants ransom paid in cryptocurrency.

He made this statement Tuesday during the Cybertech Global 2021 conference on cybersecurity in Dubai.

Moghalu said the rapid growth of the crypto sector has given rise to new security challenges, which should be erased to ensure that public confidence in emerging technology remained high.
