Omoyele Sowore known as Yele is a Nigerian human rights activist,who was born 16th February 1971 and also a pro-democracy campaigner, former presidential candidate, and founder of an online news agency Sahara Reporters a pro-democracy publication that shines light on corruption, human rights abuse and political misconduct in Nigeria.. On 3 rd August 2019 Sowore was arrested by the Nigerian State Security Service for alleged treason after calling for a protest tagged RevolutionNow. He was arrested again and beaten during a protest in Abuja on January 1, 2021. Sowore is a man of honour whom all Nigerians like and respect because he fights for the people
Omoyele Sowore lives in Bergen County, New Jersey with his U.S. born wife and two children
Sowore appeared in court today at Abuja for his trial with his herbalist.
