
Buhari extends Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu tenure by three months.
The Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammad Dingyadi told newsmen that Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari has extended the tenure of Mohammed Adamu as the Inspector General of Police for three months.
The minister said this on Thursday in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He said that the extension is necessary to give room for the proper selection of who will take over from him.
This is coming as the inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu should retire this February after he completed the maximum 35 years of service and now the question of who will replace him is already on ground.
The Inspector General of Police who joined the service 35 years ago in 1986 rose to the top rank of police in 2019..
Adamu who hails from Nasarawa state, Nigeria took over the IGP position from Ibrahim Idris who comes from Niger State, Nigeria.
