Women around the world continue to express their frustration at the way political leaders discriminate against them by not giving them chances of participation in the administration after winning an election. Therefore, the Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has become one of the successful Nigerian governors who pays special attention to all issues affecting women. In addition to distributing food rations to the students, Governor Ganduje provided new vehicles to all the girls' schools to assist them in their studies.
As a result, the High-Level Women Advocacy and UNICEF groups have organised a special event to reward Governor Ganduje with a special certificate of honour through a 14-year-old girl, Atika Aminu Yankaba.
After receiving the award, Governor Ganduje held a surprise scene which to this moment continues to garner praise from social media users. Ganduje handed over control of the state to Atika for up to 20 minutes.
Governor Atika Aminu Yankaba said while presiding over the council meeting, that the state needs more funds to build more classes, employ more teachers and give priority to ICT education.
Similarly, she said in a press conference that her government, which lasted only 20 minutes, would supply sanitary pads and other girls ’need to have a sound education.
Yankaba's speech deserves praise for its good intentions, which will enhance the happiness of the people of Kano State. Furthermore, if we take a closer look, we will understand that Attica's intentions were not to steal public money. Furthermore, Atika's idea is to address the major problems facing the community at this time, which are the education and health sectors. Therefore, we should further commend this girl for her good intentions.
Commenting on Atika's speech, Ganduje said, "During my absence, I witnessed how you ran the government and it was excellent, the executive council meeting was done marvellously, with all the commissioners contributing wonderfully."
