One Major Thing Ex-President Nnamdi Azikiwe Said When Biafra Civil War Ended In 1970

After the end of the Nigeria/Biafra civil war in 1970, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, the first Igbo president made a crucial statement. The statement disclosed everything the president did during the war and explained the reason for his actions.(Image Credit: Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe And Odumegwu Ojukwu).

Dr. Nnamdi stated that everything he did during the Nigeria/Biafra war in 1967 to help Biafra was completely under duress. He disclosed that he was never a member of the Biafra Executive Council or it's civil service but was only ordered to do certain things. One of the certain things he was ordered to do is to join delegation in Addis Ababa.

However, the statement made by the former president is a clear sign of his loyalty to the unity of Nigeria. He strongly believed in the strength of one Nigeria and will not support division. Though many people may dislike Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe because of his actions but his statement also shows that he played little or no role against Nigeria during the war.

According to statement, Dr, Nnamdi was not consulted or summoned before any decision was made maybe because the leaders had no trust in him due to his love for Nigeria. He deserves all the love, respect and honour from Nigerians because of the selfless love he gave during his reign.
