Here in this article, I will state some important reasons why it is necessary for the country to have a president from the South-eastern geo-political zone, and why the vice president should as well come from the south-west.
Even though campaign for the 2023 general election is yet to start, but some Nigerian politicians have already start showing their interests to contest in the upcoming general election.
Most of these politicians are showing their interests indirectly, while some are being endorsed by some individuals or group of people.
Based on my personal opinion, I want the next president of Nigeria to come from the Southeastern part of Nigeria because of some certain reasons.
One of the reason why I stick to my opinion is because Nigerian is running democracy as a system of government. For this reason, there is a need for all Nigerians to be able to contest for presidency irrespective of where one come from.
So, I also want to use this medium to make a call to both PDP and APC leaders to please zone the presidency to the South.
Doing that will promote peace and unity of Nigeria.
However, the slot for vice presidential candidate should also be zoned to the Southwestern part of the country for the same reason stated above.
Going deep into my opinion, the two people from south-eastern geo-political zone whom I am supporting to succeed president Buhari are Hope Uzodinma, the executive governor of Imo State and Peter Obi who was a former governor of Anambra State.
And for the vice presidential slot, that is for the Southwestern part of Nigeria, I will suggest that either Bola Tinubu, or Femi Fani Kayode.
I am sure that some forms of insecurity including the calls for secession will drastically reduce if this advise is followed.
One of the most important thing in today's world is peace and unity, we have to do everything possible to ensure that the life favours all of us in a way or the other.
