The Lagos Division of the Federal High Court has ordered the return of two houses belonging to former Nigeria Senate President Bukola Saraki that were forfeited to the Nigerian government.
The Federal High Court in Lagos in 2019, ordered the interim forfeiture of two properties located at Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
Nigeria’s anti-graft agency the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in an exparte application filed by its lawyer Nnaemeka Omewa alleged that they were acquired through proceeds of unlawful activities.
2. COVID-19: FHC Chief Judge, Tsoho, goes on self-isolation
The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, has gone on self-isolation following a confirmed case of COVID -19 among his aides.
Justice Tsoho, in a statement by acting Information Officer of the FHC, Catherine Oby Nwandu, on Friday, also ordered some key staff in his office to do the same, pending the results of the tests conducted on him, members of his immediate family and close aides.
The statement reads in part: “The Federal High Court recognises that health and safety are paramount in the sphere of justice delivery.
FAAN threatens to bar non-compliant VIPs from airports
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has asked all very important personalities to obey all COVID-19 protocol at the nation’s airports or risk being denied access to any of its facilities.

Embattled former acting Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, Joy Nunieh, is testifying before the House of Representatives Committee on NDDC at the ongoing investigative hearing on the alleged illegal expenditure and mismanagement by the commission.
The investigation of the NDDC had got messier on Thursday as the police invaded the Port Harcourt residence of Nunieh.
The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, who prevented the police from taking Nunieh away, had asked the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to probe the invasion of the former NDDC boss.It was alleged that the invasion was to prevent Nunieh from moving from Port Harcourt to Abuja to testify before the panel.
5. 35 parties and political groups adopt Obaseki as sole candidate
The Social Democratic Party, SDP and All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA are leading 33 other parties and political associations to endorse Governor Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy, Philip Shaibu for a second term ahead of the September 19 Governorship election in the Edo State.
Some of the names of the list are for political parties that have been deregistered by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
