The Constitution Of The Federal Republic Of Nigeria Should Be Amended. (Opinion)

We can not be doing something the same way and expect a different result. The constitution of this country should be amended. So many incompetent people are occupying positions they are not capable of handling.

We hear different kinds of stories almost everyday from our leaders (government) at different levels. There are so many things to be amended in the constitution, but i want to commend on two areas that needs amendment urgently.

1. Age limit :

As a matter of fact, the constitution should be amended to limit people from contesting for any political office in the country. For anyone to contest for the position of a president or vice president must be between 35 -60 years, governor and his deputy should be 30-60 years, National Assembly should be 35-60,and state House Of Assembly members, local government chairmen and counselors should be 25 -55 years. We need the younger generation to fix things in order in this country and we're in the 21st century for crying out loud. Competent young hands should be given the opportunity to pilot the affairs of this nation.

2. Educational Qualification (Bsc) :

For anyone to contest for any political office in this nation, the minimum educational qualification should be Bsc. (First degree). The use of WAEC certificate (olevel) should be removed from the constitution. We need think tanks, people that can provide solutions to the arising needs of our dear nation. Intellectually sound minds and not narrow minded set of people, for gone are those days. I see Nigeria making waves in the nearest future if this things are applied. God bless the Federal Republic Of Nigeria.
