EFCC detains and grills Abdulfatah Ahmed, ex-Kwara governor

The immediate past governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed was Monday invited to the EFCC headquarters in Jabi, Abuja for questioning and was detained from about till the time of writing this report.

While details are still sketchy, reports have it that the former governor is answering questions about alleged misappropriation of about 7 billion naira between the years 2011-2019 while he was governor of Kwara State. Abdulfatah also served under former senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki as commissioner for finance. Even though the ex-governor has confirmed to the press that he was indeed invited by the EFCC where he was confirmed to be grilled for at least 7 hours, he gave no further details.

On the part of the EFCC, spokesperson of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that the former governor responded to the Commission’s invitation but declined to give further details.
