Information reaching our news desk now has it that Anambra State Government heavily led by Governor Willie Obiano has issued a directive that the Agbaedo Nnewi New Motor Spare Parts Market should be shut down for seven days.
This was made known in a press release signed by the Honorable Commissioner for trade and commerce, Mr Uchenna Okafor, which was made available to a reputable newspaper company, DAILY POST on Saturday.

It was learnt that Obiano has directed the closure of the market for one week, occasioned by their disregard for Coronavirus safety protocol by both sellers and buyers in the market.
The Governor also requested that the market executives should appear before the commissioner for health, Dr Vincent Okpala for retraining and recertification, within the seven days of the market closure.
In recent times, the State has recorded high in Coronavirus positive cases, which has prompted the Governor to take the COVID-19 case very serious in the State, this made him to instruct that all the residents of Anambra must wear face mask and failure to do so, will attract a fine of 10,000 naira.
It was also gathered that the Governor also imposed a nine hours curfew in the State, which has been scheduled to commence on Monday.
