Borno State Governor Backs Southern Counterparts On Buhari's Successor

The governor of Borno State in the person of Babagana Umara Zulum has declared support for the agitations of the Southern governors on producing the president in the 2023 presidential election.

Zulum showed his support for the presidency coming from the south because he believes the unity of Nigeria is very important. Governor Zulum declared his support in an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.

In his words, he said, “I am of the view that the presidency should go to the south in the year 2023 because the unity of our country is very important.”

The governor further disclosed that he is not interested in becoming the vice president of Nigeria or the president of Nigeria, but he wants to do the right thing.

The southern governors have been agitating for the presidency for a long time now, they have made claims that the 2023 presidency must come from the south. However, till now political parties are still deciding on who should be their flag-bearer in the next coming presidential elections.
