South-east governors condemn the IPOB sit-at-home order says it has a negative impact on the economy

The South-East Governors and traditional rulers condemned the Indigenous People of Biafra's Monday sit-at-home order on Tuesday, October 5, saying it had a negative impact on the region's economy.

Following their meeting at Government House in Enugu on Tuesday, the leaders declared that such an order could no longer be enforced because those who issued it live outside the country.

The leaders refused to discuss the incarceration of embattled IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu in their eight-point communique.

David Umahi, Governor of Ebonyi State and Chairman of the South-East Governors' Forum, who read the governors' resolutions, said:

“The South-East was chastised.”
