The federal government has authorized the telecommunications industry to set up offices, where people can exchange SIM cards for people in all local government areas of Nigeria.
The federal government has also increased the number of, time that SIM registrants are authorized to open the service from one year to five years.
This is in addition, to the Special Committee on the Registration of Signatures in Abuja.
Pantami explained that the committee's responsibility, is to develop a new process for film registration.
He said they would not allow such a thing to happen before, in which case the registration companies had initially disrupted the program.
The minister commended Nigerians for their patience after the federal government imposed, a new tariff on increasing the NIN identification number.
He then assured the people that every step of the, way from now on would be one that would make life easier for them.
Earlier the federal government had announced that all Nigerians and foreigners, residing in Nigeria should register and apply for a NIN identification number.
