But in case you don't have the luxury of time and data to watch the video on YouTube or Facebook. Here is the summary of everything Sunday Adelaja said in the video.
Hello fellow Nigerians, my name is Sunday Adelaja. I've not done this kind of video for a while, but I think I must do this video, especially at a time like this, when the nation is mourning Tolulope Arotile. A lady that has distinguished herself beyond our imagination, and beyond her age, years and the whole country is mourning her.
I think it's the needful thing to do. It's a great loss to Nigeria, humanity and especially to the family. There is no way we'll not mourn her, but today I want to talk about us focussing more not on the tragedy of her death or demise.
But I think we should reflect as a nation more about why we should rejoice for her. And celebrate her life rather than keep on mourning her. So, I want to shift our focus from mourning to celebration of life.
I think what this lady deserve and what she might desire more than money, is celebration of life. Of course, there is a place of mourning, but she deserves celebration and as a nation, we all need to begin to celebrate her. See her as a hero that she is.
And begin to talk about her in terms of her achievement, accomplishment, and inspiration that she has brought, because she has made her family proud, she has put her family in the map. She has put human-hood on the map. She has put Kwara State, where she comes from on the map.
She has in fact, written her name in gold. She has cemented her memorial and immortalised herself. So, it is for this achievement that we should all be celebrating her life.
First of all, the mistake we made often in Africa, is that we think everybody that is born into this world must come to live a long life. Yes, longivity might have it place and some people might be called to live a long life, but not everyone.
You see, Jesus didn't live a long life, and myriad of people who died young, but they are more memorialable, immortalizes than the people who have live long.
I personally think we should be celebrating Tolulope, and the reason for this, is because she has been able to do what no person has been able to do in our country. She has been able to go beyond the call of duty, by fighting the combatant, and we should learn from her, from her courage, self sacrifice, and the lessons she has left with her life to us.
May her soul rest in perfect peace.
