Court Has Sentenced Former France President To 3 Years In Jail, See His Pictures

Information reaching our news desk now has it that former President of France, Nicolas Sarkozy, has been found guilty of corrupt practices and influence peddling and sentenced to three years in prison.

The former President was alleged to have forged a "corruption pact" with his legal practitioner and a senior magistrate.

According to the Judges, there was a convincing evidence of colluding between the three men to go contrary to the law.

Report had it that, the court had learnt how Sarkozy ordered, Mr Thierry Herzog, his lawyer, to offer the magistrate an undemanding job on the Côte d'Azur in return for information on a different probe centred on the rightwing politician.

Though, Mr Sarkozy still stance a chance to appeal the judgement in a higher court of law, if he feels that the verdict was unjust and does not reflect the actual reality.

The judgement which was delivered on Monday, being today, the 1st of March, 2021, is going to end his hopes of going back to public life.
