There are three politicians of the PDP that may not want to face former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu. The three politicians would even be sceptical about their future if they are to meet the former Lagos State governor in the forthcoming presidential election. They may be popular, but it would be an uphill task for the PDP politicians to defeat Tinubu.
There are strong indications that the All Progressives Congress would most likely want Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national leader of the party, to lead the presidential race in 2023. His own ultimate dream is to rule the country and he would be presented by the party, barring all unforseen circumstances which may arise.
The Rivers State governor, Mr. Nyesom Wike would not want to face Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He knows that the level at which Tinubu operates his politics is quite different from what is obtainable in Rivers State and other south-south states. Wike can't in any way outshine Tinubu if the two men face each other.
Although Wike may rely on the voters from south-south geopolitical zone, but it should be explained that the whole of southwest voters may queue for Tinubu. That means the two men have taken one region each. But when it comes to northern votes, Tinubu would easily beat Wike in the poll.
Atiku Abubakar is the second PDP politician that would be afraid of meeting Tinubu in the presidential election. The former vice president is actually powerful. He has much of his influence in the southern part of the country and he will want to build on that for the 2023 presidential election. But he won't want to meet Tinubu on the way.
It is quite apparent that Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar are the most formidable politicians in the current political dispensation. But Bola Tinubu can gather enough support from northern region and he can make Atiku less powerful in the southern region. At least, Tinubu can get support from eight states in south and fourteen states from north. They are states under the All Progressives Congress.
Atiku knows that Tinubu's presence in northern Nigeria beats one's imagination. Tinubu can even beat his own chest to win Adamawa State, whereas Atiku can't muster courage to claim Lagos State. Tinubu's closeness with the likes of Umar Ganduje, Babagana Zulum, among others is enough for him to beat Atiku in the northern region of the country.
Dr. Goodluck Jonathan may not want to face Bola Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election. It is worthwhile to note that Jonathan's name is being mentioned at this moment just because the presidential election is around the corner. And it is being widely said that Jonathan may join the All Progressives Congress. He knows that if he represents the PDP and Tinubu represents the APC, the APC candidate would emerge.
