BREAKING: INEC declares PDP’s Odey winner of Cross River senatorial bye-election

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr Stephen Odey, has been declared the winner of the Cross River Northern Senatorial District bye-election held on Saturday, December 5.

He was declared the winner by the Senatorial bye-election returning officer, Prof Ameh Akoh.

He scored a total of 129,207 votes to defeat his closest rival Joe Agi of the All Progressives Congress, who scored 19,165 votes.

The party’s candidate, Maria Godwin Akwaji, also won the Obudu State Constituency seat in the House of Assembly.

‘Why We Want Tambuwal To Run In 2023’

The chairman of the Tambuwal Save Nigeria (TSN), Alhaji MD Yusuf, has said that they are pursuing Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal to run for the presidency in 2023 because of his good leadership since entering politics.

Alhaji MD Yusuf made the remarks while addressing newsmen in Kaduna, saying the national development projects undertaken by Governor Aminu Tambuwal date back to 2003 when he went to the House of Representatives and chaired its committees. many successes, including his tenure as Speaker from 2011 to 2015.

He said after Aminu Tambuwal became the governor of Sokoto State, he brought about a revolution in the education sector in the state by giving priority to education, with the sector receiving almost a quarter of the state’s annual budget.

Three Police Officers Rescued From Kidnappers In Ogun State

The Ogun State Police Command says it has rescued three out of its four officers abducted by kidnappers in Aba Tuntun, Ijebu North Local Government Area Naija News reports.

A spokesman for the force, Abimbola Oyeyemi, made the announcement while addressing newsmen in Abeokuta on Saturday.

He added that the kidnappers are still holding Kurtu Emmanuel Gene.

A trending video has emerged on social media of Anthony Agbazuere, Chief of Staff to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, spraying money on Prophet Odumeje, the ‘Indaboski’.

In the video shared on Twitter by Enwagboso, Odumeje, whose real name is Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, can be seen dancing while Agbazuere showered him with money.

Naija News reports that the viral video drew condemnation from some Nigerians.

Some Nigerians condemned the disregard for the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) regulation against spraying or stepping on the naira.
