Opinion: One PDP Governor That Should Be Nominated For Presidency By Uche Secondus

The opposition party needs to consider a northerner as the flag bearer of the party instead of another person from another part of the country. There are two years only to the 2023 election and the party is still having internal crises among the top members of the party.

Internal crises such as the one that exists between Governor Seyi Makinde and former Governor Ayodele Fayose have dwindled the strength of the party in the Southwestern part of Nigeria. Some politicians are loyal to Engineer Seyi Makinde while some belong to the faction of former Governor Ayodele Fayose in Ekiti.

The All Progressive Congress (APC) on the other hand is getting stronger by extending its wings to those places where it does not have power before. Top members from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) are already defecting to the All Progressive Congress (APC). This has also been affecting the progress of the opposition party.

With all these aforementioned problems facing the opposition party, the party can still challenge the ruling party in the 2023 presidential election by presenting a worthy candidate that will be able to tackle Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming presidential election which has been scheduled to hold in the year twenty twenty-three presidential election.

As the major stronghold stalwarts in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, the National Chairman of the party, should nominate Alhaji Tambuwal from Sokoto State to be the flag bearer of the party.

Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal is a northerner who knows what politics is in Nigeria. He is an active member of the party and he knows how to control his fellow northern. Prince Uche Secondus should consider nominating Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal from Sokoto as the flag bearer of the party in 2023.
