A former governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Adamu, said government should treat herdsmen the way other citizens are being treated.
Adamu made this statement during a media parley with Senate Press Corps in Abuja on Monday.

He said that herders don't enjoy infrastructure like; good road, electricity, pipe borne water etc, because of the nature of their job.
He begged the government to make funds available to herdsmen pursuing their legitimate business like other businessmen across the country have access to funds from the national treasury.
According to him: "The duty of this government is to treat herdsmen like other businessmen in Alaba, Onitsha, Kano, and Port Harcourt because, they are Nigerians too."
He added that, these provisions are public funds, not private fund of any governor or senator, so every Nigerian should be entitled to it.

He also said that the government has a duty to find a wherewithal to make it possible for herdsmen not to go astray in the course of pursuing his legitimate duty.
