According to a report gathered from Channels Television, youths aggrieved by the recent bandits attack in a community in Plateau state which left a score of people dead, mostly women and children with several other injured decided to act. The angry youths in their numbers reported converged at the Plateau Specialist Hospital where the deceased had been deposited and evacuated the lifeless bodies into a van.

The angry Plateau State youths headed straight to the Plateau State House of Assembly with the corpses of the victims that died from the violent attack. The road leading to the State House Assembly was completely blocked by the angry youths. On their arrival at the Plateau State Assembly, the speaker addressed the youths about the incident, but they were not pleased with the response they got and then decided to move the corpses to the Government House.

The angry youths stormed the Government House of Plateau State where they finally laid the body to rest, in a prompt response to the situation the Jos State Government summoned an emergency Security Council meeting presided by the Deputy Governor of the State, Professor Sonni Tyoden, to discuss the situation in the state. The situation in Jos is a very sad one because Jos some years ago was one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria.

Following the event that took place today, the Plateau House of Assembly should be able to do these three things for the benefit of the people in Plateau State. Continuous fighting or attacks can never make development come to a State.

Firstly, the crisis in Jos, Plateau State, didn't just start today, for close to two decades now, Jos always witness one crisis or the other, there is a serious problem in the state which cannot be ignored. The lawmakers have the responsibility and are duty-bound to set up a committee that would look into the roots of the problems causing a crisis in Jos. You will recall that week back, some Muslims were traveling through Jos, unknown gunmen men attacked their bus killed 23 of them while 23 others sustained an injury for no just cause. The lawmakers can set up a committee to look into the problems causing tension in the state.

Secondly, the lawmakers can also help by charging the security agencies in the state to put in place solid security measures. If a good security measure is in place, attacks can be averted or the attacks can be repelled by security operatives. The state can form a special squad that will be responsible for intelligence that will support communities in Jos when terrorists plan attacks. The problems in Jos have resulted in so many deaths and loss of properties in the state, those in places authority in the state need to provide a lasting solution to these problems.

Lastly, I will suggest that the perpetrators of these heinous crimes should be caught and punished adequately for the inhumane act, security operatives should use all possible means to arrest the attackers, also, the lawmakers should work with the State Government to compensate the families of those who died in the attack, it will in a long way to pacify both the angry youths and the families of the victims. I will commend the Governor of the State, Simon Lalong for declaring a curfew in the state to curb violence.

How can the incessant crisis in Jos be resolved?
