During a visit to Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity in Abuja, Mr. Nevobasi said, President Buhari, will always be welcomed to the region.
Mr. Nevobasi who gave the traditional title of Isimmri 1 of Mmaku (Main Source of Water) to Mr. Buhari in 2018, praised the president’s efforts in fighting corruption.
Furthermore, He said President Buhari had the support of the Igbos despite his handling of the many security challenges in the region and across Nigeria.
Nevertheless, here are 2 things Igbos should emulate from the traditional ruler.
Peace-making is a process of bringing about peace, especially by reconciling adversaries. However, it is high time for Igbos in Nigeria to realize that peace-making is one of the ways to build a peaceful nation. The traditional ruler who visited the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity has shown a very significant example that Nigeria is indivisible.
2. Igbos should appreciate the effort of President Muhammadu Buhari's government in Igbo land
President Muhammadu Buhari Government has carried out major projects in Igbo land some of the projects are the Second River Niger Bridge, which is going on at a frenetic pace, The Enugu International Airport that has a brand new runway and is now in use, The Enugu-Port-Harcourt Expressway and Onitsha-Enugu road, and many others. These significant projects are to the benefit of Igbos and it has also shown that President Buhari has everybody at heart. Therefore, I urge all Igbos and other traditional rulers to emulate the culture of appreciation to the government for the good jobs done in Igbo land.
Lastly, I urge all Igbos to stop agitating for the division of Nigeria but rather help the government in the fight against insecurity.
