Meet the two political leaders aspiring to win the governorship of Anambra in 2021.

In the 2021 election, prominent politicians in the country are prepared to take over the mantle of leadership in Anambra state. The following are the Ubas who may run for governor of Anambra in 2021:

A. Emmanuel Nnamdi Uba

Andy Uba, a Nigerian politician, was born on December 14, 1958, and was elected senator for the Anambra South senatorial district in Anambra State, Nigeria, in April 2011. He ran on the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). He was named Special Assistant for Special Duties and Domestic Affairs to President Olusegun Obasanjo after the 1999 elections. In 2007, Uba ran for governor of Anambra state in the PDP primary, and was elected in the 14th April 2007 elections. Andy ran for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the Anambra South senatorial district election in 2011 and won. Andy ran for re-election in 2019 on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, but lost to Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressives Party.

B. Ugochukwu Uba

Dr. Ugochukwu Uba is a political scientist, administrator, and politician who was born in May 1949. Andy is the youngest of the two brothers, while Ugochukwu is the eldest. Prior to entering politics, he worked as a lecturer at Nigeria's Nsukka University from 1984 to 1987. In 2003, he ran for the Senate seat in the Anambra South senatorial district and was elected on the People's Democratic Party platform (PDP). On the PDP platform, he was re-elected for a second term in 2007.
