Kano slashes March salaries of political office holders
The Kano State Government has slashed the salaries of political office holders in the state by 50 per cent for the month of March due to dwindling resources. The state commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, said the action was due to shortfall in the revenue accruing to the state from the federation account. He said the decision affected the governor, deputy governor and all public office holders in the state as well as all commissioners, special advisers, senior special assistants and special assistants, among others.

Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin, the wife of the late spokesman of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, has said her husband died on Friday, April 2, 2021, and not Saturday, April 3, 2021, as earlier reported.

The official driver of President Muhammadu Buhari, Saidu Afaka, who was recently detained by the Department of State Services after tricking his principal to sign a fraudulent document to make millions of naira is dead.
The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, Garba Shehu, on Tuesday disclosed that Afaka died at the State House Clinic on after a prolonged illness.
Polytechnic Lecturers Embark On Strike Action Over New Salary Scheme
Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, has declared a strike, demanding the implementation of a new salary scheme for polytechnic lecturers.
According to the union, the industrial action kicks off on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. ASUP leaders made the strike declaration today after a meeting with Federal Government officials in Abuja. Asides from the new salary scheme, the union is also demanding payment of salaries and promotion allowances owed lecturers by some state governments.
