Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has explained why the All Progressives Congress's presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, lost to the Labour Party's standard flagbearer, Peter Obi, in his state.

Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, received 191,361 votes, narrowly defeating Bola Tinubu, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who received 172,922 votes. The All Progressives Congress now holds power in Nasarawa State.
Governor Abdullahi Sule addressed the media at a press conference held in the Government House in Lafia and said that internal strife caused by the primaries was not the only factor in the defeat.
To that end, he elaborated, "The election was between political parties against a movement, it was tough for political parties because they didn't know where the movement was headed, but thank God that our candidate, Bola Tinubu won the election."
