Aisha Muhammadu Buhari has responded to the death of Tolulope Arotile, Nigeria's first female combatant helicopter pilot.
Tolulope died Tuesday in a road crash in the state of Kaduna. Nigerian Air Force announced her death on Wednesday.
In response to the sad news, Mrs. Buhari tweeted, I received the news of Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile 's demise, the first female Nigerian Airforce Combat Helicopter pilot, with a heavy heart.
I condone this irreparable loss to the Flying Officer Arotile family, the Nigerian Air Force, and the country.
She described the deceased as a smart young woman with a big potential for both Nigerian women and youth, and what they might accomplish.
On October 16, 2019, two females, Kafayat Sanni and Tolulope Arotile, were named by the Nigerian Air Force as the first female combatant pilot and first female helicopter pilot, respectively.
