5 Southeast Govs attended Ohaneze Imeobi for the first time to benefit from Igbo emotions- Ononuju

Katch Ononuju, the special adviser on public affairs to Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has claimed the five Governors of the Southeast attended the Ohaneze Imeobi for the first time because they want to bring themselves back into the Igbo emotions which he claimed currently follows Peter Obi.

The Ohaneze Imeobi which took place in Enugu few days ago saw the five Governors of the region and other Igbo leaders unanimously adopt Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu as the new President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide.

Asked why he thinks the five Governors were present at the meeting for the first time?

Katch Ononuju said, "the last political game showed them that first, Igbos decide and then they vote based on their collective decisions. If you are not seen to be with the Igbo people, the political decision will affect you in a very negative sense. So I think that’s what they’ve seen.

And if you look at Enugu itself where there was a devastation of the political hierarchy here and people seem to vote alongside the Igbo emotions. I think that’s exactly what the Governors want to bring themselves into. Move alongside the Igbo emotions.

The Igbo emotions follow Peter Obi, the Governors believe they should also be beneficiaries of such Igbo emotions and that’s why you see them now pitting their path back to respecting the Igbo emotions as represented by the Igbo institution in today’s being the Ohaneze Ndigbo. I think that captures the reasons for the acrobatics that you saw today."
