-ELFON tells Ag.IGP
Just as we are faced with insecurity challenges in Nigeria, having limited manpower to combat insecurity, report has it that the Nigerian police high command has okeyed sending over 140 Nigerian police officers to curb insecurity situation in Somalia.
Speaking to journalists this morning at the Nnamdi Azikwe international Airport, Abuja, the National President of Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria (ELFON), Amb. Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel described this as a height of insensitivity and inconsequential showmanship.
The ELFON president condemned this development in its entirety as this period is a critical time as a result of insecurity, ranging from kidnapping, bandit activities, robbery and many Others.
Hence, there is need for us as a Nation to safeguard our home first, protection of every life and properties of Nigerians and Nigeria should be a top priority before we can now think of rendering security assistance to another country.
The ELFON president equally advised the new Acting IG to think of Nigeria and Nigerians safety first before any other things.
The IGP should embark on state after state meetings with stakeholders ranging from political office holders at the local governments, traditional rulers, youth and student leaders, artisans and transporters for partnership, Godstime opined.
