The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) Malami Abubakar has made a clarion call for countries in various parts of the world who are supporting Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB to withdraw their support, as he noted that the destructive activities of IPOB/ESN have contributed to the increasing level of insecurity in the country.
Although, Malami did not mention the countries that are supporting IPOB but, it is imperative for such countries to give due considerations to the level of destructions and privations that the people of Nigeria are passing through from the acts of IPOB.
However, here are ways in which Malami's call for countries to stop supporting Biafra agitation can be achieved.
First, the Nigerian government should write official letters to the government of those countries
This is a good starting step to take in calling on those countries to withdraw their support. A letter should be written to them in demand of their withdrawal in supporting Kanu and IPOB, as they are aware of the destructive activities of the group in Nigeria.
Secondly, the President should pay official visits to those countries.
Paying a visit to the countries lending their support to a group that looks up to the fall of Nigeria, would enlighten them to see reasons why they should stop supporting Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB. In this regard, if the president finds it inconvenient to visit them, other alternatives of sending representatives could be utilized.
Thirdly, the president should report those countries to the United Nations.
It is totally unacceptable for another country to lend support to any group terrorizing another country. If the presidency should file a report against them before the United Nations, they will definitely withdraw from supporting Kanu and also disallow IPOB campaigns in their country.
In conclusion, it is in my best interest to opine that if these measures are taken, Malami's call for countries to withdraw from supporting Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB can be achieved.
